The Goose Store has roots in Honk & Hiss, a pond wetgoods company founded in 1910 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Started by brothers Honkry & Hissley Waddlesworth. With the great pond scum bloom of 1944, Honkry was able to open their first department store “The Goose Store”. Along with many other department stores The Goose Store went bankrupt in 2008.
The company was then revitalized by the grey duck of the family – Honkry Waddlesworth III (aka Honk).
From the fallout of the department store, Honk saw the great waste created by his gaggle’s company and decided he wanted to create designs that filled the void and not the landfill. The Goose Store now focuses on silly designs using upcycled materials when possible.
